PJOE Delivers Goods to SOFEC for FPSO Miamte MV34

Mooring systems provider SOFEC has taken delivery of the Upper Tower and Mooring Support & Yoke Structures for MODEC’s


FPSO Miamte MV34 which will be deployed for Eni in Mexico which is built at our Penglai Jutal Offshore Engineering Heavy Industries Co., Ltd, Penglai, P.R. of China [PJOE] yard.


SOFEC was awarded a contract by MODEC in October 2018 for the Dis-connectable Tower Yoke Mooring System (DTYMS) for the FPSO to be located in the Salina Sub-basin of the Area 1, Amoca and Mitzon Fields, Bay of Campeche, the Gulf of Mexico at a water depth of 32.6 meters.


SOFEC in turn awarded fabrication contracts to PJOE for the Upper Tower and Mooring Support & Yoke Structures. The scope of work of the contracts included construction engineering, bulk and further materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, supply of transport grillage and seafastening and load-out.


SOFEC said that the DTYMS was specially developed to moor the FPSO to avoid the active hurricane environment and winter storms of the Gulf of Mexico. Due to the unique and challenging field criteria at the site of the FPSO, SOFEC developed a unique, first of a kind DTYMS for the FPSO," SOFEC stated. PJOE is proud it has been able to contribute to the success of our repeat client SOFEC.


Total weight of the orders is 7,460 Ton and represent PJOE’s heaviest mooring system delivered so far.
