In August 2020, SOFEC, one of the world’s four largest single point mooring system suppliers, signed contract with JUTAL for the construction of Woodside SNE FPSO External Turret Mooring System. The total weight of the project is about 3500 tons. It is planned to start cutting materials in January 2021 and complete delivery at the end of June 2022.
The project is an external turret mooring system designed and constructed by SOFEC for a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit of Woodside Company in Australia. The FPSO will be used in SNE oilfield development project in Senegal, West Africa.
The project is an important milestone in the history of JUTAL single point construction, and is the largest single point project undertaken by JUTAL so far. At the same time, it is the first time for JUTAL to cooperate with Woodside, the largest independent oil and gas producer in Australia, which has high quality and safety requirements and is strict on-site control. This is also the first time that JUTAL has undertaken to build a large number of nickel based alloy composite pipelines. In the project, the cladding pipeline accounts for one third of the total weight of the pipeline. The pipelines that are of multi types, large quantity, long procurement cycle, thick pipe wall, high construction difficulty and strict size requirements, which has a great impact on the project duration.
Since the first single point mooring project was built in 2007, JUTAL has become the first in China in terms of its mature construction process, construction technology and excellent safety and quality control ability. It has built and delivered several single point mooring products such as catenary anchor leg mooring buoy, turret, fork arm mooring system and anchorage system, it has won the full recognition of SOFEC, SBM-IMODCO, Bluewater, APL and other international customers, and has become a long-term reliable partner for them.
