Shipment 8 of GCGV project was delivered 21 days ahead of schedule
In Texas, USA, on the other side of the Pacific Ocean, a large-scale chemical plant with an annual output of 1.8 million tons of olefins jointly constructed and designed by Exxon Mobil and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation is in full swing. At the end of 2021, this industry's eye-catching plant will be put into operation, transforming local natural gas resources into olefin products for the global market.
On this shore of the Pacific Ocean, at JUTAL construction site, 10 olefins furnace and olefins separation and processing modules with a monomer weight of about 5,000-8,000 tons stand majestically. More than 6,000 people work hard together, and the appearance of the modules is changing with each passing day. In 2020, due to the impact of COVID-19 epidemic and under the circumstance that the progress of each shipment is lagging behind, JUTAL site bucked the trend and charged in adversity. On the basis of doing a good job in COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control, more than 6,000 hardworking construction people were assembled to catch up with the project schedule. Thus, Shipment 3 and Shipment 4 were delivered in advance in January and February, which were the most severely affected months by COVID-19 epidemic; in June, Shipment 5 was delivered 5 days ahead of schedule, and in September, Shipment 6 was delivered 6 days in advance. During the 21-month construction process, JUTAL, GCGV, CKJV and its subcontracting partners set an excellent record with the spirit of hard work. On October 30, 2020, the first two super-large PAU process modules of the project, total weighing approximately 7,000 tons and 5,500 tons respectively, achieved zero safety accidents and shipped 21 days in advance, continuing the new legend of project safety, quality, and early delivery.
